There is also no goal that you need to meet, so you can play at your own pace. For a game with very simple gameplay, it offers a wide creative avenue that you can explore. Townscaper provides its players with a Z en-like experience. These lapses can be a bit frustrating since the game has so many avenues for creativity. Moreover, it is difficult to carve curving paths. It also lacks modes of transportation, such as trains and cars. There are no differently-shaped blocks to allow you to build unique-shaped houses. For one, it is impossible to create circular buildings. However, as expansive the creative possibilities that the game provides, it could use a few more customization options. Sure, the game has a multitude of small elements that make it hyper lively-such as seagulls on the roof, tiny Wellington boots on the doorsteps, and mailboxes-but it does not affect the gameplay. There are no people to check on and goals to meet like The Sims 4, and there are no turnips to purchase and friends to interact with like Animal Crossing. Unlike other simulation games, it does not require you to do anything other than build your town. If you feel like you’ve added a building that is not to your liking, you can destroy it by clicking right. Many of these details are randomized, but they add life to the town you’re making. It also adds ladders to go down the water and clothesline between buildings. It even adds gardens when spaces are enclosed. It can add terraces, arches, and bridges as you play. Players also need not worry about the details of the house they’re building since the game has a hidden algorithm that handles such details. To make your town colorful, the game provides a color palette. The third and fourth click will make the building rise. The first left-click on the water will build the foundation of your first building-clicking on the same spot a second time will build the house. From that canvas, you can start building your town. Furthermore, I would like to thank the creator Oskar Stålberg for giving us this project. You start the game with a blank canvas of the blue sky and an empty sea. STEAM TOWNSCAPER PASSWORDMy thoughts - I don't think this game is for everyone, but if you are a creative person and love to build your worlds just like myself, I believe you would be able to get enjoyment out of this game. You buy a STEAM account with the game Townscaper - After the purchase, you will be given a login and password from the steam account, after installation it. But I would like to see more features added to the game such as a population or stuff to make your town look more lively. The game is still very simple and early stages, the only thing that you can do is build your town which is not necessarily bad. Gameplay - The gameplay is really simple, you will only be using your mouse to play the game. So if you like the idea of showing your town to others, it is perfect for you. Visuals - Townscaper is a beautiful and simplistic game, without tweaking any settings the game is already perfect for taking screenshots and that aspect is further improved with the latest build which added new times of the day and different lightings. And since the game is not yet complete I won't be attributing any scores besides the final one. … ExpandĮARLY ACCESS REVIEW TL DR Review -įinal Score - ( 7 ) Good EARLY ACCESS REVIEW TL DR Review - Final Score - ( 7 ) Good In-Depth Review (Spoiler Free) - Since this game is an Early Acess title my review might change over time, this review is more relevant during the build on which the game is being reviewed. It's only some 150MB, so will be downloaded real quick, and perhaps it'll amuse you for a few minutes. However, if you have a game pass, I'd recommend you give it a try while it's on there anyways. STEAM TOWNSCAPER TVIf you remember it as something boring you were forced to do because you couldn't go play outside or watch tv / play videogames, you'll probably want to steer clear. If you remember it fondly, you'll most likely enjoy Townscaper. STEAM TOWNSCAPER MANUALThis game is like that time you sat down with your wooden blocks or your lego as a child, threw the manual to the corner, and decided to build a town of your own. This game is about just plopping down a couple blocks and building an island town, painting it in a variety of vibrant colors and basking in the glory of your own creation. Digital key This is a digital edition of the product (CD-KEY) Instant delivery. Anyways, there's no goal, no "You won!" screen, nor a "You lost!" one. Global Can be activated in United States of America. So thanks for broadening my horizons, lol. So thanks for broadening my This isn't really a game how most would think of one - me included, honestly, until I played around in Townscaper.
